Knees Engineering (originally trading as KAM Engineering and MAB Southern Ltd), is a long-established metal fabrication business based in Wiltshire.
Founded in 1958, the company offers a complete end-to-end sheet metal fabrication service to clients from a wide range of industrial sectors – both locally in West Wiltshire, nationally and even internationally. From CAD design and prototyping to laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, bending and finishing, we can cater for almost any engineering job – no matter what size.

Our history
KAM Engineering (Knee Agricultural Machinery) was originally founded by John Knee in 1958 as an importer of agricultural machinery, before later becoming a manufacturer of agricultural machinery in 1964.
Since then, the company has evolved into a subcontract fabrication facility and manufacturer of engineered parts and components for a vast array of industrial applications.
In 2010, KAM Engineering took control of fellow Wiltshire-based metal fabrication business, MAB Southern Ltd. This hugely positive step enabled the two companies to expand their service offering and add to their mutual development and enhanced customer services.
In 2021 KAM and MAB rebranded under the umbrella name of Knees Engineering, marking an exciting time for the business. As well as launching our new website we are continuing to invest heavily in our facilities and equipment to enhance our service. This includes the purchase of our new state-of-the-art Amada ENSIS-3015 AJ 6kW fibre laser cutter.

Our company ethos is to deliver high quality in all aspects of the business, and we seldom turn down a challenge. We pride ourselves on our problem-solving skills and will always go the extra mile to meet our customers’ unique requirements.
It’s also our mission to deliver everything that clients need under one roof. As a one-stop shop, Knees Engineering can manage the entire metal fabrication process on your behalf – from initial design through to manufacture, final finish and delivery.
We have developed a close relationship with a network of hand-picked subcontractors who we can call on for professional finishing work when necessary. This means our clients can leave their product development and realisation in our hands, from concept to finish, and don’t have to shop around for the skills required for completion.
Quality and accreditations
We take quality very seriously and every job goes through our embedded quality assurance process during production to ensure it meets each customer’s specific requirements.
We’re also accredited with the BS EN 1090 certification for structural steel. This requires that all structural and construction steel items and fixings we produce for permanent installation must adhere to various set standards and bear the specified CE marking.
